AminoPro™ 75 - Stability is the key

01/15/2021

The concept of “stability” has been strained by the current pandemic crisis, that highlighted our vulnerability to the natural events.

This vulnerability is well known by the operators of agricultural and feed market, used to marked variation of raw material prices due to several events: increasing in biofuel and green energy production, global financial crisis, increasing of fuel cost, drought, plant disease, changes in human food habits, international trade agreements etc.

Instability of price and availability of raw material is a huge concern for feedstuff producers and primary industry. This scenario does not allow forecasting purchasing and production cost, exposing producer and consumers to a price volatility that heavily affect profit and food price.

Price instability and low sustainability of the main protein concentrates is confirmed year by year, therefore alternative sources have to be explored in order to limit the risk of shortage and significant variation of feed cost. As reported in fig. 1 and 2, fish meal and soybean price showed a marked instability and a significant improvement even in the last year.

Data are compared with AminoPro™75, a 2nd generation Single Cell Protein (SCP), coproduct of feed and food grade amino acids production, a strictly controlled industrial process that makes it stable in terms of quality and safety. Thanks to Mazzoleni standardization process of the different batches, AminoPro™ 75 has a stable composition. This 2nd generation SCP is characterized by high palatability, affordable price, high digestible protein content, favorable amino acid profile, low level of ashes and the content of nucleic acids, converted in nucleotides during digestion. AminoPro™ 75 is therefore a suitable alternative to protein concentrates such as fish meal and soy protein concentrate.

As evident from the two figures, Aminopro™ 75 price showed a marginal rising of price, due to the improvement in product quality (75% CP instead of 70%) followed by a prolonged stability, not linked with protein concentrates price variation. Stability in terms of price and composition, together to its high nutritional value, makes AminoPro™ 75 a suitable alternative to the main protein concentrates.
